Our Legacy Matters

For over 77 years, the Sadler name has been a trusted part of Southside Virginia. What began in 1946 as a small family heating oil business, founded by Herman M. Sadler, Sr. and Younger Owen Sadler, has grown into a cornerstone of the community—built on hard work, integrity, and lasting relationships. Under the leadership of Herman M. Sadler, Jr., and now his children, Missi and Hermie, Sadler Brothers Oil Company has expanded while staying true to its roots. Today, the next generation—including Hermie’s children and Herman’s grandchildren—are also part of the company, ensuring that the Sadler legacy continues to grow.
From dependable home heating and onsite fuel delivery to travel plazas across Virginia and North Carolina, the family of companies that carry the Sadler name reflect a legacy of service and growth. Our Slip-In Food Mart convenience stores, partnerships with national franchises like Shell, Pilot, Firehouse Subs, Dunkin’, Dairy Queen, Five Guys, and The UPS Store, and family restaurants including Victory Lane Restaurant, Milestone Diner, and FOSHO Bar & Grill, all showcase our commitment to serving people wherever they are—at home, on the road, or in the community.
We are proud to support those who keep our region strong—local business owners fueling the economy, farmers feeding families, loggers supplying resources, and truckers keeping commerce moving. Beyond industries, we are equally devoted to meeting the heating needs of households, ensuring that families stay warm and comfortable in every season.
At Sadler Brothers Oil Company, you can expect more than just fuel—you can count on a legacy of service, trust, and commitment that has been passed down through three generations, with the fourth now actively carrying it forward.
